Dikeou Collection to Temporarily Close

2026 marks the beginning of a fresh chapter for Dikeou Collection in a new location where we will reintroduce the work from our permanent collection comprised of over 45 international contemporary artists, as well as many new names and acquisitions. In preparation for this move, Dikeou Collection, 1615 California St, will close to the public on January 30, 2026 until further notice.

While these new developments are underway, you can see a selection of Dikeou Collection artwork at Hudson’s Bay, 1600 Stout St, a downtown office building where productivity and creativity meet in the heart of 16th Street. Works by Margaret Lee, Chris Gilmour, Devon Dikeou, Rainer Ganahl, and Sebastiaan Bremer are on view in the public lobby area, providing opportunity for unique encounters with art that break from the norm. Dikeou Pop-Up: Colfax, 312 E Colfax Ave, is also open by appointment. Contact info@dikeoucollection.org for scheduling options.

And with these transitions we are pleased to share that the hugely successful Colorado Building Artist Studios program will continue at its new location at the Independence Building on 14th and Tremont. We look forward to expanding our creative community with artist studios, communal spaces, an artist-run gallery, and seeing Denver artists flourish in this building. For more information about the Independence Building, visit dikeouartstudios.com.

The remarkable history of Dikeou Collection—its past, present, and future—is all thanks to our amazing audiences, friends, and collaborators who have shown up and supported us in innumerable ways over the past two decades. We hope to spread the love . . . and the art . . . for many more to come.

About Dikeou Collection

The Dikeou Collection is a Contemporary Art Collection in Downtown Denver that was established in 1998 by siblings, Devon Dikeou and Pany Dikeou. It is free and open to the public, and also includes the ancillary Dikeou Pop-Up: Colfax (est. 2014) housed in the former Jerry’s Record Exchange at 312 E Colfax Ave and Hudson’s Bay lobby (est. 2025) at 1600 Stout St. Operating as an extension of New York publication zingmagazine, the Dikeou Collection features the work of 45 international artists. Devon Dikeou is an artist herself, the founder, editor, and publisher of zingmagazine, and a collector and curator of contemporary art. Her interest in the platform of exchange between collector, artist, viewing context—museum, collection, gallery, magazine—and viewer engendered her artistic practice, zingmagazine, and the formation of the Dikeou Collection. In 2022 the Smithsonian Institution | Archives of American Art accessioned the papers pertaining to Devon Dikeou’s studio practice, zingmagazine, and Dikeou Collection where they will be preserved for posterity and made available for public access and research. Devon Dikeou is the recipient of the 2024/2025 Jules Guérin Rome Prize for Visual Art.
