Celebrate Denver Arts Week with the Dikeou Collection as we reopen our Pop-Up Space to honor the installation of new work by E.V. Day in part with the “Swap Meet” exhibition.
E. V. Day is a New York based installation artist and sculptor. Day’s work explores themes of feminism and sexuality, while employing various suspension techniques and reflecting upon popular culture. Day has utilized unorthodox artistic media including cat skeletons, children’s plastic toys, and replicas of animal tongues to touch on femininity and the humor of gender roles.
Our large and eclectic record collection will be highlighted with music played by local DJs Jeremy ‘Sinistarr’ Howard and Dave Wilkinson. Sinistarr is a drum & bass DJ/Producer from Detroit. He is known for his cutting-edge and experimental works that tie in local influences with other forms of music. Check out his sounds at http://soundcloud.com/
Dave Wilkinson of Wax Trax Records has worked at this local music haven for over 12 years. He plays records weekly at Sputnik Lounge, and his style connects the common elements of soul, psych, punk and hip-hop. http://
