LUCKY DEBELLEVUE RECEPTION AND LECTURE
10/22/2011
The Dikeou Collection is pleased to announce that NYC-based artist, Lucky DeBellevue will exhibit his work, “Otter,” in the permanent collection. Composed of chenille and tinsel stems that form an interactive sculpture, “Otter” was originally exhibited at the Altria Branch of the Whitney Museum of American Art in 2002. DeBellevue has been, ” . . . hailed for his intricately woven sculptures: whimsical, if sometimes also slightly disturbing, forms that often tip into anthropomorphism.” [ArtForum]
In anticipation of the exhibit opening, DeBellevue will give a free lecture at the Dikeou Collection, Saturday October 22nd, at 5pm.
