Join fellow drawing enthusiasts every first Wednesday of the month from 5:30-7:30pm for Dikeou Drawn, an experimental sketching series. Each month, the focus of the session will change, using the collection as both inspiration and model. Guest artists and professionals will lead these events, sharing their personal experience and expertise through creative drawing exercises. Sketch and socialize in an informal setting; free and open to people of all ages and skill levels. Drawing benches/stools and refreshments provided, participants must bring their own art supplies. Drop-in, however space is limited to 20 – first come-first served.
The first Dikeou Drawn is Wednesday, August 3rd, from 5:30-7:30pm using Momoyo Torimitsu’s over size bunnies as models. Quick sketches will take place as the bunnies inflate to life, followed by longer poses (the bunnies love being the center of attention). Lead by Dikeou Collection Director Jaime Kopke, the group will sketch to the rise and fall of the bunnies, along with tunes and light refreshments.
