VIDEO DIALOGUE: JUAN GOMEZ

07/22/2016

The Dikeou Collection is pleased to present Video Dialogue: Juan Gomez on Friday, July 22 from 7-9pm. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.

Video Dialogue: Juan Gomez
Juan Gomez’s series of drawings titled Share at Dikeou Collection are somewhat raw in nature. They are also kind of perverse as well as humorous, and explore relationships and personal expression.

This video screening will focus on audience participation to explore these themes through videos found on the internet. Bring your requests or email them beforehand to be included in the screening. Think of the raw/awesome/cringe-worthy/weirdly sexual videos you’ve seen on Youtube that deal with human expression. Anything that will make us all cringe, cathartically vomit, and make out.

Send your video links to dc.videodialogue@gmail.com. Videos must be under 5 minutes in length. No porn… Not all submissions will be shown at screening, but send us your best findings! Submission deadline is July 20, 2016, 11:59pm.

We’ll have pizza and beer. Come hang out and let’s share some weird stuff.

Video Dialogue is a screening series that focuses on one artwork/artist in the Dikeou Collection and uses videos to explore tangential connections to expand the conversation around the selected artwork/artist. Each screening will feature one hour of video clips assembled from common and unconventional sources and thus serve as an unofficial video conversation about the artwork/artist. Organized by Saniego Sanchez and Jenna Maurice.
