LEE & BROWNING BOOK RELEASE HAPPENING

The Dikeou Collection welcomes writers Sommer Browning and Sueyeun Juliette Lee to Dikeou Pop-Up: Colfax on Friday, May 27, 6-8pm, for a special Book Release Happening. Join us in celebrating the publication of Lee’s Aerial Concave Without Cloud (Nightboat, 2022) and Browning’s Good Actors (Birds, LLC; 2022). Each will read selections from their work and premiere their new video, SOFT DISPLAY, filmed on location at the Denver Small Press Fest in March 2022

Sommer Browning is a poet, writer, curator, and artist living in Denver. Her latest book is Good Actors (Birds, LLC; 2022). She’s the author of two other collections of poetry, Backup Singers and Either Way I’m Celebrating, as well as the artist book, The Circle Book (Cuneiform Press), the joke book You’re On My Period (Counterpath), and others. In 2017, she founded GEORGIA, an art space in her garage in Denver. She is a librarian.

Sueyeun Juliette Lee lives in Denver, Colorado. Her work explores ecological transformation, diaspora, catastrophe, digital media, and history. Her books include Underground National (Factory School Press, 2010), Solar Maximum (Futurepoem, 2015), No Comet, That Serpent in the Sky Means Noise (Kore, 2017), and Aerial Concave Without Cloud (Nightboat, 2022). A former Pew Fellow in the Arts for Literature, she’s held international residencies in video art and poetry, and presented work at the Denver Art Museum, Artworks Center for Contemporary Art, Chicago’s city-wide performance arts festival IN>TIME, and the Asian Arts Initiative. Her essays on race, contemporary poetics, trauma, and the avant-garde have appeared with Cambridge University Press, Iowa University Press, The Poetry Foundation, Entropy Magazine, and elsewhere.
