Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80203. Please join us for readings by Steven Dunn, Diana Khoi Nguyen, Kelly Sears, and Swanee. This event is free and open to the public.

Steven Dunn is the author of the novel Potted Meat (Tarpaulin Sky 2016). He was born and raised in West Virginia, and earned a B.A. in Creative Writing from University of Denver.

Diana Khoi Nguyen is currently a PhD candidate in creative writing at the University of Denver. Her poems appear or are forthcoming in Poetry, American Poetry Review, PEN America, The Iowa Review, and elsewhere. www.dianakhoinguyen.com

Kelly Sears is an experimental animator that cuts up and collages imagery from American culture and politics. Her work draws on documentary and parafictional forms of storytelling, shifting between the official and unhinged. She is an Assistant Professor of Film Studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder and is one of the editors for NOW! A Journal of Urgent Praxis.

Swanee is a poet-scribe from Sacramento, CA. She was once described as Elrond’s emissary from Rivendell and ever since has doubled her efforts to empower youth and help her audience find catharsis against the tools of Mordor. Swanee has kind of done it all from lobbying DC politicians, to cooking at bars that more closely resemble pirate ships, to nude modeling. Through it all, she has never stopped being the poet, taking her sharp rhetorical tongue and using it to cleave the naked truth. To her this means erotics, fluvial exchanges, epic tributaries, ghost genetics, language as a healing touch. intensity. love. She is most inspired by wild things, dancing and all of you right here in this room.

The Dikeou Literary Series is currently organized by Mairead Case. Case is a working writer in Colorado, where she is also a PhD student at the University of Denver and the Summer Writing Program Coordinator at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. Mairead teaches fiction, poetry, and poetics at DU, Naropa University, and the Denver Women’s Correctional Facility. She is the author of the novel See You In the Morning and Tenderness, a poetry chapbook.
