Join us at the Dikeou Collection for the sixth installment of our Family Saturday Workshop series on Saturday, September 7 from 12-4pm. This month’s workshop will focus on artist Johannes VanDerBeek. The Dikeou Collection is home to a spectacular art installation by Johannes called “Newspaper Ruined” (2008), and it will serve as the inspiration for this month’s workshop.
Johannes’s “Newspaper Ruined” is a large imaginary city made entirely out of newspaper, the New York Times specifically. This piece brings together elements of sculpture and collage, and is an audience favorite at the Dikeou Collection.
Visitors participating in the workshop will be supplied with materials to create their own newspaper sculptures and collages with family and friends.
This workshop is free to attend and no RSVP is required.
Music and snacks will also be provided.
