Dikeou Literary Series: Holly Amos, Ben Goldsmith, Zeeshan Reshamwala, and Jacqui Shine

The Dikeou Collection presents the eighteenth installment of the Dikeou Literary Series on Thursday, October 6, at 7:00pm, which will take place at Dikeou Pop-Up: Colfax312 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80203. Please join us for readings by Holly Amos, Ben Goldsmith, Zeeshan Reshamwala, and Jacqui Shine. This event is free and open to the public.

Holly Amos is an animal rights advocate and vegan. She is the author of the full-length poetry collection Continual guidance of air from H_NGM_N BKS. She lives in Chicago, where she is the editorial assistant for Poetry and a poetry editor for the online journal Pinwheel.

Ben Goldsmith is a Hasidic-raised graduate school deserter turned community organizer. When Ben is getting paid to organize, he works with low-income tenants in Chicago. On his own time, Ben is organizing his own communities’ accompliceship in the struggle for racial and economic justice.

Zeeshan Reshamwala was born and bred in Bombay. Now at the University of Denver, he studies nineteenth-century poetry, translation, and postcolonial theory.

Jacqui Shine is a writer and historian. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in The Atlantic, Slate, The Awl, the Lapham’s Quarterly blog, Pacific Standard, the Chicago Reader, The Believer, New York Magazine’s Vulture, the Boston Review, the Los Angeles Review of Books, Eater, Bookforum, and The Chronicle of Higher Education. Her story on the history of the New York Times’ Style Section was nominated for a 2015 Mirror Award for excellence in media industry reporting. She holds a B.A. from Smith College, a certificate in nonfiction writing from the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in United States history from the University of California, Berkeley.

The Dikeou Literary Series is currently organized by Mairead Case. Case is a working writer in Colorado, where she is also a PhD student at the University of Denver and the Summer Writing Program Coordinator at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. Mairead teaches fiction, poetry, and poetics at DU, Naropa University, and the Denver Women’s Correctional Facility. She is the author of the novel See You In the Morning and Tenderness, a poetry chapbook.
