FAMILY SATURDAY WORKSHOP: DEVON DIKEOU

07/15/2017

The Dikeou Collection continues the Family Saturday Workshop series on July 15 from 12-3pm. This workshop will focus on the work of our curator, Devon Dikeou, and will be held at the Dikeou Collection, 1615 California St, Suite 515. Workshops are free to attend, and materials as well as light refreshments will be provided.

Artist, Editor, Curator, and Collector, Devon Dikeou is from Denver, CO. Currently she lives and works in Denver, New York, and Austin. Her work Cajole, 1992 ongoing, replicates large and opulent floral arrangements. Whether found at the mall or Trump Tower, Dikeou’s artificial arrangements make permanent that which is ephemeral, yet painstaking created by floral designers.

For this workshop participants will consider the symbolic and associative significance of different flowers and colors to create their own faux flower arrangement.

The Dikeou Collection’s Family Saturday Workshops are a great way for people of all ages to learn more about contemporary art and experiment with new creative processes. Workshops include a tutorial and presentation of the artwork highlighted that month.
